The songs were selected by Sogabe Keiichi (Sunny Day Service), who has a deep knowledge of URC.
URC (Underground Record Club) was born in 1969 as a pioneer of Japanese indie labels and ended its activities at the end of the 1970s. URC, which brought together such cutting-edge talents as Wataru Takada, Kenji Endo, Five Red Balloons, Ryo Kagawa, Happiendo, Nobuyasu Okabayashi, and many others, can be regarded as the founder of Japanese folk/rock music. Keiichi Sogabe (Sunny Day Service), who has a deep knowledge of URC, selected songs from their vast catalog of sound sources, and the compilation CD "Dawn of City Folk - URC Selection Compiled by Keiichi Sogabe" was released in November 2024 which became a hot topic. It has been decided to release an analog LP version of this compilation. This time, Sogabe himself is in charge of both the jacket design and liner notes, and will not duplicate the 11 tracks from the CD version.
